New chief for Cartoon Network Europe

In an internal promotion, TBS Europe's Stephen Johnstone has been appointed to newly created role of senior vice president and general manager Cartoon Network Europe.

Effective immediately, the move sees Johnstone move from his post as head of interactive for Turner's entertainment networks. He began at the AOL Time Warner-owned company in ad sales eight years ago.

He takes on responsibility for the management of Cartoon Network's family of businesses, which comprises nine local-language TV channels, interactive services and off-channel commerce.

Johnstone continues to report to Lynne Frank, evp and md of TBS Entertainment Networks Europe, who is to concentrate on developing new entertainment channels and concept developments across the EMEA region.
